July in Review
What you missed, what I shared, what we learned together.
Hi friends!
July was brain surgery #2, a slow and occasionally boring (we hoped for boring!) recovery, and the launch of a new weekly voice-note series.
Here’s everything from the month in one spot, in case you want to catch up, reread, or share with a friend!
Thanks for reading Dear Rosie!
A Standing Ovation!
A quick update the day of brain surgery #2. The call time, the 42-story view, and the deep breath we all took on the other side.
“The exhaust was worth it, because going into surgery, I felt calm knowing I had done my due diligence to find the best hands for this surgery.”
You Don’t Have to Achieve Anything Today
48 hours post-surgery, the headaches were back, and Hans had to say the quiet part out loud.
“You don’t need to achieve anything today. You only need to rest. You’re 48 hours out from brain surgery. You need to rest.”
The Head and The Heart Vol. 28: Seven Days Out From Brain Surgery #2
The Science and the Art + Magic of how I actually found my New York team.
“At every consultation I’ve had, the doctor has said something like: ‘I’m sure you don’t know what brand of coil you had.’ And I’d proudly answer: ‘Target360!!’”
Sunday Night Friend #1: Introducing Sunday Night Friend
A new weekly voice-note series, launched because I’m obsessed with sending friend podcasts, and this is an extension of that ohb!
“I’m obsessed with sending voice notes. If someone sends me a text there’s a 95% chance they’ll receive a voice note back.”
Sunday Night Friend #2: Trust The Timing Of Your Life
Recorded a month before surgery #2 - a peek into my mind during that time.
“This episode of Sunday Night Friend was recorded one month after I found out I needed a second brain surgery and one month before I’d actually have the procedure done.”
Resting Is Hard Work
On doctor’s orders, KPIs, and why forced rest is hard.
“Nothing says resting like learning a new AI tool to build a new website, saying yes to a venture capital firm pitch 3 weeks post brain surgery, and taking my daughter to her first Lynx game. I am unhinged and I know it.”
Stay tuned for more in August. Thank you for being here.
XO,
R
